When installing, try to cover the roof with a thicker blanket to prevent ladders or other objects from accidentally collapsing and falling and scratching your car.
Buy a rooftop tent that you like and choose the one that suits you based on the number of people camping and the space you want to achieve. The installation method can be side-opening or rear-opening according to personal preference. Because rear opening may affect the opening of the trunk, the mainstream installation method in China is still side opening.
There are requirements for luggage racks when installing a roof tent, which can be roughly divided into two types: 1. The car comes with separate longitudinal rails; 2. The car has load-bearing crossbars installed. 1. The luggage rack can bear load, and the dynamic load capacity exceeds the weight of the tent itself. 2. The distance between the luggage rack and the luggage rack should not exceed 1.1m, and the thickness should not exceed 2.5cm. If it exceeds the limit, long screws will be required. The gap needs to be greater than 3cm. 2. It comes with integrated longitudinal rails and no reserved installation points for luggage racks. For ordinary roofs, you need to install cross-bar luggage racks, and the cross-bars equipped on the tent bottom also need to be replaced with 1.38m long.
If you have equipped your own cross-bar luggage rack, you need to pay attention;
1) The dynamic load capacity of the self-equipped crossbar, Tole, Cooler, and Aidele can basically reach a dynamic load capacity of more than 75KG.
2) The distance between the two crossbars is mostly about 70CM-90CM, generally not more than 1.1M, and can generally be adjusted automatically.
3) The thickness of the cross-bar luggage rack should not exceed 2.5 cm. If it exceeds 2.5 cm, long screws can be used, and the gap between the roof and the luggage rack must be greater than 3cm.
